No. The blocklist lives on your device, so filtering works offline. Internet is only needed for the periodic blocklist refresh and for COMPANION email alerts.

A management app set up this way can forbid safe mode (on Android, this setting is called DISALLOW_SAFE_BOOT). This mode is set up from a computer, on a phone whose accounts are removed for the few minutes it takes.

Either way, OFFBET makes sure you're never alone if the protection stops:

• Protection is designed to come back on its own after a restart.

OFFBET detects both. A third-party VPN that tries to take over your traffic is intercepted; a system-wide Private DNS override (DNS-over-HTTPS or DNS-over-TLS pointed at a custom resolver) is flagged as CRITICAL: it would route DNS around our local filter entirely, so OFFBET flags it on your protection status and asks you to switch it off: setup can't finish while it's on.

Manufacturers ship their settings UIs differently across devices: some strip identifiers, some wrap screens in custom shells, some rename labels. OFFBET's detection combines several signals (on-screen labels, context, behaviour), and we adjust it brand by brand as your reports come in.

Rare, but it happens, and anyone can flag it as a bug. Head to OFFBET.app/suggest-improvement and tell us which domain is wrongly blocked; we’ll review every report manually and whitelist it for everyone in the next blocklist refresh, usually within the day.

Report the problem through support chat or [email protected]: include the app name, store link, exact message or a screenshot with private details hidden, phone model and OFFBET version.

Update OFFBET and the affected app, then check that it is not selected in your personal blocked apps list. Some apps refuse an active VPN, even a local one. We maintain an Android VPN exclusion list for specific apps: those apps bypass the VPN filter while other apps remain filtered. On Android, the refusal may involve the VPN or the accessibility service. OFFBET uses this service to block certain apps and limit bypasses. A VPN exclusion does not remove this separate security check by the banking app.

GCash is already on our VPN exclusion list. If its warning mentions accessibility, this exclusion is not enough: compatibility also depends on which services GCash accepts.
